The most dedicated and hardworking male Physician Assistant within Greater Accra awards was picked up by Mr. Stephen Ofoe Sabbah, a young and vibrant alumnus of Presbyterian University, Ghana practicing medicine at the Gbawe SDA Hospital in the Greater Accra Region.
While in school, Stephen served as President of the Physician Assistants Student Association for the 2015/16 academic year and is currently the national director of communications for the Graduate Physician Assistants Association and an executive member of the education and research committee of the Ghana Physician Assistant Association (GPAA).
Stephen has been an excellent practitioner and an educator within the rank and file of the PA profession. He performs various roles in his chosen field, including serving as a presenter on Zoom Medical eduforums organized by the PA Association on medical conditions such as chronic liver disease, heart failure, new trends in managing hypertension, cerebrovascular accident.
He also served as the secretary to the committee tasked by the Ghana Physician Assistant Association to draft a clear career progression pathway, presented to the Ministry of Health.
Stephen was prompt at regional meetings and national annual general conference sessions and was very instrumental in bringing new innovations and initiatives that seek to put the PA profession in the limelight.
While serving as the director of communications of the Graduate Physician Assistant Association, he led the first strike action organized by PAs in Ghana to register their displeasure on bad working conditions.
This and many other attributes projected Mr. Sabbah as a nominee from members of the PA fraternity and was subsequently voted for and won among other nominees as the most dedicated and hardworking male Physician Assistant within the Greater Accra Region.
