The SRC of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana, Okwahu Campus, through its Women’s Commission (WOCOM) and Entertainment Committee (ENTERCOM) made the evening of Saturday the 14th of November 2015 an unforgettable one.

The Wocom and Entercom collaborated to organize the PUC’s Strongest and Face of Okwahu Campus. This event attracted not just students but staff of the College and some town folks.

PUC’s Strongest, the first of it kind saw eight contestants battle it out to victory with various weight-lifting stunts.

The Strongest contest was made up of three rounds which were interwoven with the Face of Okwahu contest. Each round had a different stunt and various weights to be lifted by the various contestants.

Endurance, determination, agility and stamina were greatly tested by the challenge posed to the contestants to reveal true strength and the house was thrown into amazement when the unsuspecting and unassuming contestants were able to lift weights that the very muscular contestants could not lift.

The weights ranged from forty-eight kilos to a hundred and two kilos as they graduated from one round to the other.

Each round attracted loud cheers and chants from the audience as the contestants proved their capacity and strength in the keen contest.

A sense of humor swept through the audience whenever it was the turn of one of the contestants, Kevin Nyarko Adene, a.k.a Password, because he was so relentless yet left the house thrown into laughing due to his inability to lift virtually any weight at all.

At the end of the final round, Albert Frimpong a level 300 student, emerged the Strongest for Okwahu campus followed by Raphael Azubuike Nwachuku, a level 400 student, and Evans, a level 100 student, in the second and third positions respectively.

The confidence, dexterity and brilliance of the ladies were brought to bare as they gave of their very best in each round.

The health awareness talk boarded on the topics such as Cervical Cancer, Candidiasis and Breast Cancer.

The pageants educated the audience extensively on the causes, symptoms and remedies for the aforementioned health conditions. The cultural presentation covered both Ghanaian and Nigerian Cultures.

Four awards were given to deserving contestants for the categories of best dressed, brilliant, talented and photogenic.

The evening was climaxed by the declaration of the pageant results. Jennifer Omane, a level 200 student was crowned as Queen followed by Elizabeth Nhyira Yankah, a level 100 student as the first runner up and Grace Emma Larbi as the second runner-up.

The night was full of great excitement by other performances by Molex, MABS and the Money Tree, all students of the University College.
