Rev. Dr. Blasu Leaves PUCG

Rev. Dr. Ebenezer Yaw Blasu, the Chaplain of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) has been reassigned by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) to Akrofi-Christaller Institute (ACI) of Theology, Mission and Culture as a lecturer effective September, 2020.
The ACI, an autonomous post graduate research and training institute is a sister University of PUCG and it is also owned by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Rev. Dr. Blasu joined PUCG in 2007 as a Chaplain and a lecturer at the Department of Agribusiness. In his 13-year meritorious service to the University, he successfully built on the foundation laid by his predecessors by transforming the then Chaplaincy Unit into Chaplaincy and Life Values Promotion Centre (CLVPC).

By this new focus, he developed the Chaplaincy Manual, the Staff and Students Devotion Guide; and organized programmes such as the Leadership Training Seminar (LTS), Life Values Classes for Freshers among others with the determination to see God’s character reflect in the cultural fabric of the University.

At a send-off event organized for him by the University on Friday, 21st August, 2020, the President of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng expressed gratitude to him on behalf of the University Community for the enormous work he has done over the years to ensure the staff and students live by the motto “Discipline in Leadership”. The President wished him and his family well on his new appointment.

Rev. Dr. Blasu who was joined by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Blasu thanked the President and the entire University Community for their support. He said though the journey had been difficult, he was strengthened by those challenging times and prayed the staff to unite in their work towards achieving the institution’s vision.

The University also said its farewells to Dr. S.S. Baffour-Awuah of the School of Business and Economics, and Mr. Issa Busanga, a junior staff who retired from service the University.
