The Presbyterian University College-Ghana has reached the finals of the Northern Belt of the Inter-Private Universities debate after emerging victorious when they came up against All Nations University College at Christian Service University College, Kumasi.
En route to the Semi-final clash, PUCG defeated University College of Agriculture and Environmental Studies (UCAES) when it hosted the event.
In a keenly contested traversal of ideas on the motion “Women are better managers of the economy”, Charlene Ardey, Principal speaker and Naa Dei Kotei Sass proved their mettle with an impressive performance speaking against the motion. Charlene Ardey, Principal Speaker for PUCG was adjudged the Most Promising Debater for her debating dexterity. They were supported by Onokwai Chukwudi and Leticia Chima.
Christian Service University College also put up a spirited performance against Ghana Baptist University to book a date with PUCG for the final.
The event was organized by TP CONSULT under the tutelage of the Private Universities Students’ Association (PUSAG).
PUCG forms part of the Northern belt which includes, All Nations University College, Spiritan University College, Catholic University College, Pan African University College, Christian Service University College and Ghana Baptist University College. The ultimate winners of this zone will debate the winners from the southern belt in the final show piece.
Ashesi University College, Central University College, Valley View University, Zenith University College, Kings University College, Islamic University College, Radford University College and Knustford University College make up the Sothern belt.
The final clash is slated for Saturday March 14, 2015 at Christian Service University College-Kumasi.
