The Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) has been granted Full Accreditation to run the Physician Assistantship (PA) programme spanning from July 2018 to July 2023. This is contained in a publication by the Medical and Dental Council (MDC) of Ghana in 23rd January, 2019 edition of the Daily Graphic Newspaper, and official media outlet of the Government of Ghana.

The Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013 (Act 857) states:
- Section 27 (a) “the Council shall assess facilities and contents of programmes for the training of doctors and dentists and physician assistants in training of doctors and dentists and physician assistants in training institutions”.
- Section 30(1)(a) “A person does not qualify to be registered as a medical or dental practitioner, physician assistant or certified registered anaesthetists unless that person holds a primary qualification from an institution recognised by the Council.

The Medical and Dental Council shall not grant any form of registration to graduates from institutions not accredited by the Council. The Council shall also not grant Retrospective Accreditation to any institution.
