The Presbyterian University College, Ghana has donated an amount of 5,000.00 Ghana cedis to the Despite Disaster Relief Fund set up for the victims of the June 3, fire and flood disaster at Circle in Accra.
The presentation was done on behalf of the University by Rev. Joseph Kofi Antwi, the Public Relations Officer and Mr. Agyemang Badu, a lecturer at the offices of Peace FM, Ship House, Accra.
Presenting the cash cheque to the Fund, Rev. Kofi Antwi said as a Christian Institution it was obliged to reach out to victims of the horrible fire and flood disaster in such critical moments.
He stated that the gesture was primarily meant for school children who personally fell victim to the disaster or have lost guardians. He hoped the support will help the affected children to continue their education.
Michael Annan, the Head of Information Technology, who received the donation on behalf of Despite Group, gave the assurance that contributions will be taken to the appropriate quarters so that victims of the June 3 disaster fully benefit from the donations.
The CEO of Despite Group of Companies, Dr. Osei Kwame and his business partner, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong of Special Investments set up the fund with a seed money of 100,000.00 Ghana cedis to be given to victims of the flood and fire disaster of June 3.
