The Presbyterian University College-Ghana has been crowned champions for the Northern Belt in the Inter-Private Universities debate at the weekend.
PUCG beat Christian Service University with 77 points to 66 points to the ultimate at their backyard.
Charlene Arday, Principal speaker, and Kelvin Afrane, supporting speaker, caught everyone in the auditorium awestruck with their erudite presentation speaking against the motion “Target Assassination of Suspect terrorist is the effective way of handling terrorism”. They were supported by Onokwai Chukwudi and Naa Dei Kotei Sass.
Kelvin Afrane, supporting speaker for PUCG won the award for the most promising debater.
This however puts PUCG in pole position to battle for honours in the much anticipated contest with Ashesi University College. Ashesi University College were the ensuing champions for the southern belt. Most pundits rooted for PUCG and Ashesi for the Grand finale.
The event was organized by TP CONSULT under the tutelage of the Private Universities Students’ Association (PUSAG).
The Northern belt included, Presbyterian University College-Ghana, All Nations University College, Spiritan University College, Catholic University College, Pan African University College, Christian Service University College and Ghana Baptist University College.
Ashesi University College, Central University College, Valley View University, Zenith University College, Kings University College, Islamic University College, Radford University College and Knustford University College made up the Sothern belt.
The grand finale comes off this Friday March 20, 2015.
The management and the entire student body wish the team all the best in the finals.
