The Management of Presbyterian University College, Ghana has held discussions with the visiting delegation from Hemilton Presbytery, Scotland. The delegation was led by the host Kwahu Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
The President, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng at the meeting informed the delegation that the Presbyterian University College, Ghana is a private University owned by the Presbyterian Church of Ghana established in 2003.
He stated that the University strategically located its campuses in semi-urban areas with a plan to provide leadership, higher education and open up avenues for socio-economic development in the communities where the University’s campuses are located.
The meeting discussed the following areas for collaboration and support between the University and Kwahu Presbytery on one hand and the Hemilton Presbytery and Scottish Universities on other hand: Research; Exchange Programmes; provision of a science laboratory for clinical training in Optometry, Nursing and Physician Assistantship programme.
The other things discussed were Equipment for the Science Laboratories; Computers; Books and setting up of Steadfast Societies for Boys Brigade in the University with technical and logistical support from the Hemilton Presbytery, Scotland.
The Hemilton Presbytery delegation comprised Rev. Gruvin Black – Moderator of the Presbytery, Rev. Dr. Gordon McCraeken – Clerk of the Presbytery; Mrs. Jess McCraeken – wife of the Clerk; Mr. Stuart McGoven – Youth Coordinator and Brigade Officer; and the leader of the delegation Mr. Peter Chirnside.
Rev. George Kwame Achempong – Kwahu Presbytery Chairperson led his delegation comprising Rev. Ernest M. Bremang – Clerk; Rev. G. W. Nugba – ESR Director; Rev. E. K. Obuobi – CLAN Director; and Rev. Jonathan Obour-Wiredu – DSS Director.
