The President, Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has held meetings with staff at the various campuses upon assumption of office on 1st December, 2021 after his appointment as the President of PUCG.
The President said the meetings were aimed at introducing himself to the staff, getting to know the staff and sharing his vision with them.
The meetings also discussed how staff can play their roles to drive the vision of the University to become an institution of excellence before and after the award of Presidential Charter.
He expressed optimism about the future of the University with the commitment of staff to duty and implored them to continue with the hard work.
Prof. Oduro Owusu however charged the staff to promote faithfulness and fight off any form of cheating since it has the tendency of eroding all the successes chalked over the years.
He assured staff that his administration would prioritise the welfare of staff to ensure that the environment is conducive for optimum performance.
The President also took turns to meet the students to discuss his expectations of them and their welfare. He told the students to imbue the virtue of discipline and eschew all forms of cheating while they commit themselves to truthfulness.
Prof. Oduro Owusu disclosed that the University would adopt a policy of peer invigilation by the students during examinations. As a result, examinations will be conducted without invigilators aimed at inculcating in students the virtues of discipline and truthfulness which he said are fundamental to a successful life and career.
The President charged the student leadership at the various campuses to be committed to the policy and lead the campaign towards the new identity.
