The Management of Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) had a meeting with the Asante Presbytery Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) to discuss the state and growth of the University.
The meeting forms part of the University’s schedule to meet and interact with all the Presbyteries of PCG hosting any of the five campuses of the University.
The first in the series was held in December, 2019 with the District Ministers of PCG serving in the Kwahu Presbytery.
The President of PUCG, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng briefed the Church leaders on the state of PUCG as the 11th best University and 3rd best private University in Ghana according to the 2019 Webometrics World Ranking of Universities. He also spoke about the Kumasi campus, scholarship facility for Presbyterian students, and infrastructure needs among others.
Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng implored the church leaders to advocate for the University in order to shore up enrollment, and for the University to continue to get support from its major stakeholders – the PCG and the Government of Ghana through the GETFund.
The Church leaders espoused the excellent work the University is offering in the area of tuition and the moral grooming of students.
The Chairperson of the Asante Presbytery, Rev. Benson Osafo Kantanka thanked the University Management for the interaction and promised that the Presbytery will consider the issues raised by the President of PUCG seriously so that the Presbytery becomes a strategic partner to the University.
