Search Committee for a new President of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG) has been inaugurated at a ceremony at the General Assembly Office of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
The tenure of the current President, Rev Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng ends on October 31, 2021, hence the need to constitute search committees to propose to the Council, candidates for appointment.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Chairperson of the Council, Her Ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo, former Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana, urged the Committee to be diligent in selecting suitable candidates who are capable and ready to show leadership and move the University forward.
She urged the Committee to select a candidate who has the ability to foster and promote good internal and external communications and must exhibit strong visionary leadership and innovation for the University.
Moreover, Her Ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo indicated that the University at this time is looking for somebody with the ability to promote and expand the research capabilities of faculty members and help mobilize resources to support the growth of the institution.

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante expressed his appreciation to members of the Committee for accepting the invitation to serve on the Search Committee.
The Moderator said he was of high hope that the Committee would present a suitable candidate for the position.
The Chairman of the Search Committee, Professor E.V.O Dankwa promised that the Committee would present a suitable candidate and would try as much as possible to meet the expectations of Council and the entire University community.
Members of the Search Committee are Prof. E.V.O Dankwa, Rev Dr. Seth Kissi representing the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Mrs. Frances Adu Mante, Council representative, Mrs. Anita A. Amoako-Gyimah Alumni representative, Prof. Kwasi Adarkwa former Vice Chacellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST) Prof. John Adu Kumi Convocation representative (Professorial), Ing. Benjamin Odei Bempong Convocative representative (Non-Professorial) and Mr Bright Korang-Yeboah, Assistant Registrar who is the secretary to the Committee.
Present at the ceremony were the President of the University College, Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Adow Obeng and Dr. E.O. Agyenin-Boateng, Deputy Registrar of the University.
