Following the election of Senior representatives to the University Council, the Junior and Senior Staff members of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) have elected Mr. Jerry Abramson as their representative to Council. The election was keenly contested among three Junior and Senior staff members; Mr. Joseph Gyemfi (Okwahu Campus), Mr. Daniel N. A. Trebi (Asante Akyem Campus) and Mr. Jerry Abramson (Okwahu Campus).
Mr. Jerry Abramson, an Accounting Assistant at the Accounts Department at the Okwahu Campus came out on top after the election. He holds an HND in Accountancy from the Ho Technical University (HTU) and has served as Finance Officer of Association of Technical University Accounting Students, Ghana – HTU Chapter.
He joined the University in 2022 and is pursuing further studies at the PUG in the School of Business Administration (BSc. Accounting and Finance). Mr. Abramson on his election will represent the Junior and Senior Staff on Council, the highest decision making body of the PUG.
The election was conducted on Friday, 4th October, 2024 across all five campuses and collated at the head office (Okwahu Campus). Mr. Abramson was declared winner of the election after obtaining Sixty-Eight (68) votes out of the total One Hundred and Three (103) votes cast.
The Registrar, Dr. Francis Narh Akrono in a memorandum to all Junior and Senior Staff Members announced Mr. Abramsom’s victory in the election and thanked all members for their support and cooperation for a peaceful and successful election.
