As part of their social responsibility to contribute to the development of education in the Kwahu area, the Kwahu Association in Atlanta, USA on 2nd day of February 2013, made a donation of 289 books and 32 compact disks covering various subject areas as well as a Ti Presenter to the University Library at a short but impressive ceremony held in the University Library.
In his speech before making the presentation on behalf of the Association, Mr. Sampson Koranteng Adofo said that, it has always been the dream of the Association to ensure that the educational development in the Kwahu area reaches it highest level and to see to the fruition of this noble idea they have instituted certain measures which include books donations to the various educational institution in the area.
He further added that, the Association was of the firm believe that, the items donated will be utilized for it’s intended purpose so as to enhance teaching and learning in the University.
Receiving the items the University Librarian thank the association for their kind gesture and assured them that the items received will be utilized effectively to support teaching and learning in the University. She further made an appeal to the Association to continue their support to University Library.
The University Registrar also on his part expressed the University’s profound gratitude to the Association for their support towards the University.
Present at the ceremony were Rev Bawuah (Kwahu Presbytery Chairperson, Presbyterian Church of Ghana), Mr. Ben Odei Bempong (Dean of Students) Mr. Eric Asiedu, Mrs. Mavis Kissi and the Library Staff.
