INVITATION TO A TWO DAY DONOR GRANTS WORKSHOP FOR AFRICAN UNIVERSITIES: MAKING EVERY STAFF A FUND RAISER
We are pleased to invite you to a two-day workshop on research grants funding and mainstreaming research grants funding in the academic life of the University.
We think relying on students fees alone in financing your University is no longer sustainable and it is time to diversify the source of funding. Research grants for universities are readily available sources of funding and you can with the necessary capacity building easily access research grants to improve financial health of your University. One foci of this Workshop therefore is to expose participants, both Teaching and Non-Teaching to research grants available to African Universities so that all staff of your University become fund raisers.
Below are the expected benefits for participating in this Workshop:
- Access to the sources of research grants funding available to universities in Ghana, and Africa;
- Writing winning proposals and preparation of effective budgets for donor grants funding; and
- Practical step-by-step guides to setting up research, innovation and consultancy units to coordinate the activities of your faculty members (including incentive policy guidelines, getting the approval of your university council, and so on).
We are by this letter, inviting you (as the Head of the Institution), your Director of Finance, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, Innovation or Business Development Unit to this Workshop.
The details of the workshop are as follows:
Date: October 23 and 24, 2018
