A delegation from the General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, (GAC) has paid a courtesy call on the Executive Senate of the Presbyterian University College, Ghana (PUCG).
The meeting discussed critical issues concerning the growth of the University and the role of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in making the University one of the best Higher Education institutions in the country.
The GAC’s visit to the University, which precedes the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana every year, offers the GAC the opportunity of knowing at first hand the state of the University.
The President of PUCG, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Adow Obeng, reiterated the commitment of the Management of the University to make it one of the best tertiary institutions in the country.
But said the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s role is crucial to attaining the desired stature of the University.
The President asked the members of the General Assembly Council to make issues of the University prominent in their discussions, decisions and implementation stating that without a focus support from the GAC, the University is bound to struggle to survive in the competitive industry.
The members of the GAC expressed their deep appreciation to the Management of PUCG for their efforts to transform the University pledging to place issues raised by the President of PUCG high on the agenda of the Council.
Rev. Fred Nuer Appertey, who led the GAC to pay the courtesy call on the Executive Senate of PUCG, promised of follow up meetings between the leadership of the University and the GAC for further discussions on the issues raised by the Management of the University.
