“Environmental Management and Livelihoods Nexus: Toward the Attainment of Sustainable Development Goals”

5th- 7th September, 2018

Background

Global levels of pollution, exploitation and utilisation of environmental resources have risen and having severe impact on livelihood of vulnerable groups in societies.  Many reports have blamed environmental challenges or problems on a number of factors including loss of livelihoods of affected people which has entrenched poverty and other consequences on marginalised people. The greatest brunt of environmental management challenges are borne by those depending on environmental resources for livelihood. The global climate change has become important for all professionals because its impacts are felt across various sectors of economies and facets of societies.
