Mr Andrew Nii Adjetey, the founder of Qualiseed Ltd. has been named the winner of the Outstanding Vegetable Seeds Supplier of the Year 2023 Award at a ceremony organised by the Ghana Agriculture and Agro-Processing Awards at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.
The Ghana Agriculture and Agro Processing Awards (GAAPA) brings together players of the agriculture and agro processing industry to recognise the significant roles of individuals and companies in the development of the agriculture sector. GAAPA promotes standards, excellence, and innovation in agribusiness and stewardship.
Presenting his award to the Vice-Chancellor of Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG), Mr Adjetey who completed his undergraduate study in 2007 said he was proud to be an alumnus of the University stating that he is a testament of the opportunities that PUG offers.
He noted that achieving such heights demands acquisition of knowledge, skills and character which form PUG’s educational philosophy of training the head, hands and heart in shaping its students to become transformative leaders.
He admonished students of the University to imbue “integrity, perseverance, and commitment to excellence” in their training as catalyst to success in “academics, business and life in general.”
Congratulating Mr Adjetey on his achievement, the Vice-Chancellor of PUG, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim, an Agronomist expressed hope that the milestone will positively impart the creativity, innovation and the character of the students to commit themselves to hard work and dedication to succeed in any venture.
The Vice-Chancellor said he looked forward to a collaboration between Mr Adjetey’s company, Qualiseed Ltd and the University, particularly the Department of Agribusiness to expose the students to the opportunities in the Agriculture and Agro-Processing Industry in Ghana and the world at large.
