The 18th Graduation ceremony of the Presbyterian University, Ghana (PUG) held at the Ramseyer Training Center at Abetifi Kwahu brought together 618 graduands from various Faculties of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor John Ofosu-Anim celebrated the accomplishments of the graduating class as well as the institution’s commitment to providing world-class education that meets the needs of society.
He was exceptionally inspired by the strides that PUG is making towards gender balance in education, stating that “out of the total 618 graduands, 360 are women, representing the resilience and power of women in the academic spaces”.

He added that the School of Nursing and Midwifery, in particular, boasts of an impressive 219 female graduands, underscoring the critical role women play in the field of healthcare.
Prof. Ofosu-Anim reiterated the University’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment that encourages and empowers more women to pursue higher education and leadership roles.

Further, the Vice-Chancellor announced the various classifications of degrees to be awarded to graduands at the ceremony. He revealed that 110 had First Class honours, 305 had Second Class Upper honours, 192 students obtained Second Class Lower while 11 students had Third Class honours.
Prof. Ofosu-Anim urged the graduands to carry along the Presbyterian University, Ghana values of integrity, compassion, and a thirst for knowledge in all endeavours.
Nonetheless, he cautioned the graduands about the many challenges that the world is faced with and charged them to confront those challenges head-on with the knowledge and character garnered from the University.

The Vice-Chancellor seized the opportunity to advocate for peace towards the December polls. He said, “Peace is essential to the health and progress of our democracy; as educated citizens and future leaders, you carry a responsibility not only to contribute to our society’s growth but also to uphold the values that keep us united”.
